The construction of the demonstration plant in El Bobar WWTP (Almeria) has just started. The civil works were slightly delayed due to the COVID-19 situation, but in Aqualia facilities safety and health are always prevalent. However, works plan has been assessed and the demo plant will be accomplished in an accelerated schedule.

The demonstration plant is located in two main areas: one for the biogas upgrading plant and anaerobic pretreatment, and another for the tertiary treatment, nutrient recovery plants and crop field tests. The advance aeration control system is implemented in a full-scale biological reactor and the biomethane refueling station is placed next to the parking area.
